Goodbye to allergies, with the right cleaning ...
Winter is now really closed, but is it all really roses? In
meadows and gardens, of course, but as usual, many of us face the usual
challenge with spring allergies. Dry throat, runny nose, repeating sneezing and
watery eyes are a fixed presence now? Remember well that the danger of skin
reactions, respiratory problems and conjunctivitis, is caused only in part by
the pollens that are found in the open air and that the most annoying allergens
lurk right in the home (if you think
that a single gram of dust can contain over 7 thousand allergens created by
mites!). So how can we protect ourselves? Here is the CMZ decalogue, six
suggestions for a wellness spring!
1) Pay attention to
the materials in which the water is deposited
Shower curtains or floor mats can cause annoying allergic
reactions when they remain wet or damp for too long and mold starts to form .
Without doubt, a shower with a plastic or glass box, easier to clean and where
the mold accumulates with more difficulty. The allergic reactions to mold unfortunately
do not stop asthma : in extreme cases, in fact, you can get annoying skin
irritations or even register some cases of pneumonia
2) Dear animal
friends ..
When home humans have a good familiarity with seasonal
allergies, it is obviously essential to brush our four-legged friends with
method and care , so that the allergens retained by their hair do not create
further problems in the hottest period of the year . The dogs show a greater
condescension towards this special treatment, while as a rule the cat likes it
less, but…. Don't let yourself be moved! During the "wetsuit", we
recommend using the dog brush once a day, in spring and autumn, and once a week
during the rest of the year. To remove the hair you could use the special rubber gloves: it will be easy to attract and
ball the hair and then throw it away.
3 "The
Unactors" is us!
Before pointing the finger at Fido and Micio, we take into
consideration that every day we bring dust and dirt from the road , to which
are added, for example, flyers, bags, packages and packages, in addition to the
dust that accumulates on the doormat and enters the house at every entrance and
exit. Avoiding it is obviously not possible, but some precautions help; keep
vases, umbrella stands and other objects a little farther from the
doorstep, wash your hair, hands and clothes more often, especially if you have
been outdoors for a long time, and change your clothes regularly to avoid
getting the dirt in the bed. One last piece of advice; limit, if possible,
carpets to the bare minimum. They are in fact formidable "magnets"
for food residues, dust and mites ...
4 Take care of sofas,
mattresses and fabrics
Are you aware that up to 10 million mites can lurk inside a
mattress? Regular use of the carpet beater is recommended , as well as
vacuuming the dust accumulated inside, and turning the mattress periodically .
Furthermore, the purchase of antiallergic sheets and mattress covers protects
the mattress from dust mites and dust, limiting the risk of asthma. Even sofas,
cushions and other fabrics should be cleaned periodically, washing the covers
in the washing machine . In the case of non-removable mattresses and pillows,
try to remove the dust with a vacuum cleaner and then wipe the entire surface
with a cloth soaked in a mixture of white vinegar, warm water and a few drops
of essential oil.
5) Operation
"clean closets"
Who does not want to have a space in which to accumulate odd
and seasonal objects? Running and trekking shoes, the fan for the summer
months, food supplies and products for domestic hygiene, past toys and less
“essential” gifts. Unfortunately, however, the more objects are accumulated,
the more spaces and places are created that are ideal for piles of dust . It is
important to periodically dust off even this forgotten closet, like other
rooms! Or at least think about covering the objects left at rest and protecting
them from dust and moisturewith cellophane sheets or other materials. Otherwise
the dust accumulated there sooner or later will invade the rest of the house,
even worse in the spring period !! And why not think so long about a visit to
the flea market to sell the superfluous and get something out of it, or give it
to those who could put it to good use?
6) Take care of your
tents
The curtains are a real filter between the inside and the
outside of the house, and it is easy to imagine how mites and allergens are
deposited in a rather simple and stable manner. Whether in cotton, cotton or
linen, wash your curtains regularly at 30 degrees : a delicate cycle will be
perfect, but the important thing is to repeat it continuously. If you do not
have time to wash them, we advise you at least to pass a steam vacuum cleaner
with a special nozzle for curtains, along the entire surface without having to
first disassemble it. This procedure will surely give the fabric new vigor but
will not eliminate unpleasant odors or stains or Carpet Cleaners
.
